This Millennium
Today, in his late 60s, Bob Brighton still paints prolifically from a small flat near Worthing town centre - and the work is piling up!.
Brian Blanchflower is committed to promoting the artist overseas, but Bob would love to find galleries which would be interested in staging an exhibition of his work in the UK.
The problem is that the gallery must a) have enough space to do his larger pieces justice and b) be able to assist him in putting a show together. With quite significant health problems he simply cannot manage the arrangements on his own.
In the meantime, Bob carries on regardless. He certainly has an ‘unconventional’ appearance compared to most of the retired folk in Worthing. When recently he made a passing comment about the weather to a businessman waiting at a bus stop, the man picked up his briefcase and fled!
