Hospital Roberto del Rio, ChileBob donates 10 large works to Rio's children's hospitalIn February 2004, the Hospital de ninos Roberto del Rio in Santiago took delivery of ten of Bob's large paintings for display on their wards, corridors and offices. The hospital is the largest children's hospital in Chile and also one of the oldest, having recently celebrated it's 100th birthday. The donation was organised by Bob's friend Paulina Rodriguez, who lives in Santiago with her husband Alberto. Paulina co-ordinated the project in conjunction with the friends of the hospital, Corporacion Amigos del Hospital Roberto del Rio. To celebrate the acquisition, an exhibition of the works was held at the San Jose Cultural Centre in Santiago. Speeches were made at the event by Hospital Director Doctor Victor Castro Wiren and also by Paulina, who explained a little of Bob's history and philosophy to the guests. The paintings were all produced during the late 1980's. Photographs of some of the works and of the exhibition can be seen in the Gallery pages of this website. |
