A donation of 50 works for the new library

Consistently rated amongst the world's best universities, Imperial College London is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The college attracts 12,000 students and 6,000 staff of the highest international quality.

Two years ago, the Central Library embarked on a major refurbishment programme to revolutionise its building. The aim was to create a large, relaxed work space for students to use, whether they were working in groups or individually.

Over 50 canvases have now been donated by Bob Brighton to this public space. Select the link below to read the official news release and see a video tour of the facility showing Bob's work in-situ.

Deborah Shorley, Director of Library Services, is delighted with the integration of Bob's works into the new facilities. She said:

"The generous donation of this new art collection firmly places the Library as the cultural hub of the College. Bob Brighton’s vibrant large-scale colourful work adds a contemporary feel to the new facilities. We hope to house further art exhibitions and concerts in the café area of the Library."
